Family Law is generally utilized to describe a branch of the law devoted to Domestic Relations. It includes Divorce, Separate Support (Legal Separation) , Paternity (unwed parents), Guardianships & Adoption. Although the federal government and Supreme Court have slowly made some encroachments in this area, individual state law has historically governed the field of domestic relations. Laws, administrative procedures and legal standards vary according to state. Almost all familly law cases are initially brought in the particular state court designated to decide such issues.
